Granger sets a major league record with his 89th
appearance in a 4-1 win over Houston. |

Braves. The game would be the final of the

would clinch the National League West title. It
would be the Reds sixth division title in ten

first rookie since 1954 to win 20 games when he
guides the Reds to a 5-2 win over Houston. He is
the first Reds pitcher to win 20 since Jim
Merritt in 1970. |

Milwaukee's County Stadium‚ the Reds defeat the
Brewers‚ 8-1, behind Elmer Dessens 2-hitter. |

dramatic walkoff home run by right fielder Jay Bruce
who teed-off of Houston Astros left-handed pitcher Tim Byrdak.
