1921 - At Redland Field, the Reds defeat the Braves, 7-3. Cincinnati ties a major league record when their infield accepted 28 chances.

1939 - Cincinnati purchases Al Simmons from the Boston Bees to shore up on veterans for their pennant run.

1974 - At Riverfront Stadium, the Reds defeat the Expos, 10-3, behind the bat of Johnny Bench. Bench drives in seven runs by hitting a grand slam and a bases loaded double.
