score of 15-1.Ross Barnes had four hits in six
plate appearances and scored four runs in the

1886 - In Louisville the
Reds, Ab Powell‚ chases down a ball on a long
hit by Chicken Wolf. As he does so his pants are
grabbed by a stray dog sleeping by the fence.
The dog prevents Powell from throwing the ball
in and Wolf circles the bases with an
inside-the-park home run that wins the game in
11 innings, 5-3. |

manager Muggsy McGraw offers the Reds veteran
pitcher Joe McGinnity. Cincinnati declines.
Solater in the game McGinnity, in relief, helps
