1894 - In Boston, Cincinnati
pitchers allow a major league record of 43 runs
in a doubleheader.. The first game, 25-8 and the
final game, 18-3. The second game was called due
to darkness in the sixth inning. Reds pitcher
Tom Parrott is suspended for two weeks due to
"indifferent play." |

The Reds, who spent most of the season in first
place, loses to the Boston Beaneaters, 10-9. The
lose drops the club out of first place and began
an eleven game losing streak which ended
Cincinnati's pennant hopes. |

1914 - The Reds top Christy
Mathewson and his Giants, 3-2. Cincinnati uses a
triple and a double steal in the first inning to
score three runs. |

1918 - Behind Edd Roush's three
hits, including a double and a triple,
Cincinnati edges the Phillies 4-3 in 10 innings. |

1924 - At Redland Field, the
Reds smash the Phillies, 11-0. Game time was
delayed by 45 minutes due to a train accident
the players were in. The players were fine
but the engineer of the train was killed. |

1966 - The Reds are shutout by
the Astros in Houston by a score of 11-0.
Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, the Beatles play a
concert at Crosley Field. The concert was to be
played the day before but was rained out. The
band played a noon concert in Cincinnati and
jetted 341 miles to St. Louis to play an evening

1967 - Jim Maloney pitches a
no-hitter into the seventh inning, eventually
allowing just two hits as the Reds defeat the
Giants, 2-0. |

into first place in the newly developed National
League West division with a 5-3 victory over St.
Louis. |

1977 - The Reds defeated the Mets
at Shea Stadium, 5-1, behind the pitching and
hitting of Tom Seaver. Tom hit a double and
scored two runs in the winning effort. It would
be Seaver's first game in New York as a
Cincinnati Red. |

Cardinals by a score of 4-1. Ron Oester extended
his hitting streak to 21 in the victory. |
