1891 - At League Park, the Reds
Arlie Latham is tripped by Cleveland's Jimmy
McAleer as he rounded third. Angry over this,
Latham grabbed a bat and chases McAleer around
the field but never managed physical harm to the
Cleveland creep. |

1924 - In 17 innings the Reds
prevail by beating the Giants at Redland Field,
8-7. Cincinnati overcomes a 6-0 deficit to tie‚
then scores two runs in the 17th to win. |

1929 - Forty-year-old Braves
catcher Hank Gowdy‚ who last appeared in the
majors in 1925‚ goes 4-for-4 to lead the Braves
to a 10-9 win over the Reds. Gowdy would later
come to Cincinnati during the Reds championship
years of 1939 & 40 as a coach. |
