1900 - Reds hurler Bill Phillips punches Phillies batter Roy Thomas after Thomas fouls off a dozen pitches in the 8th inning. Phillips is ejected but the Reds win in the 11th‚ 5-4.

1937 - The first night game to start one day and end the next ends at 12:02 AM in Cincinnati, as the Cards beat the Reds, 8-6.

1975 - Pete Rose singles off of Pirates pitcher Bruce Kison for his 2,500 career hit. Reds win, 3-1.

1982 - Mario Soto strikes out 15 Mets in a 9-2 victory. Soto raises his league-leading total to 209. Teammate Cesar Cedeno steals his 500th base as well, becoming the 10th player in history to reach that level.

1984 - To a full and loud house, Pete Rose makes his triumphant return to Cincinnati as player/manager of the Reds. In his first plate appearance he delivered a single, which drove in a run. Cincinnati wins, 6-4. The crowd went nuts !

1986 - Barry Larkin smacks his first major league home run. Padres LaMar Hoyt serves it up but San Diego still defeats the Reds 9-5 at Riverfront Coliseum.

1996 - Thomas Howard had his 4th consecutive 3-hit game to lead the Reds to a 5-3 win over the Rockies.

2001 - Jose Rijo pitches in his first game in six years, hurling the last 2 innings against the Brewers. Reds lose 5-1.
