Dodgers in a double header at Los Angeles before
72,140 fans which was a record crowd for a
double header. The two victories put Cincy in
first place. A spot they wouldn't relenquish. |

homeruns and powers the Reds to a 7-1 win over
Milwaukee. The second home run would be
Robinsons ninth in eight games. |

1999 - Newly acquired Juan
Guzman has to leave the game because his shoes
were too small. When he was traded to Cincinnati
he arrived with his 10.5 size shoes that were
Oriole orange and black. Needing new colored
shoes to match the Reds Puma sent him the wrong
size (9.5). By the seventh inning, Guzman had
developed blisters. |

1891 -
The Cincinnati Reds of the American Association play
their final game, losing to the St. Louis Browns
by a score of 8-0. Due to financial troubles the
club decided to shut down for the remainder of
the season with plans to relaunch for 1892.
However, the league folded after the 1891
season and with it went Kelly's "killers". |
