1888 - In Philadelphia,
the Reds are no-hitted by Athletics' pitcher Ed
Seward. Despite not getting a hit, Cincinnati
did score two runs by drawing four walks and
reaching base on four errors. Final score 12-2. |

1889 - At Washington Park,
Brooklyn hammered the Reds 20-6 in an eight
inning game. The Bridegrooms added eight
insurance runs in the final inning. Losing
pitcher is Elmer Smith. |

1892 - In Philadelphia the
Quakers kill the Reds by a score of 26-6.
Cincinnati pitching gave up twenty nine hits. |

1896 - At League Park, the Reds
are clobbered by Cleveland, 10-1. In the 8th
inning a fight broke out between the two clubs
after Eddie Burke stole second and hit
Cincinnati's second baseman Cupid Childs. A fist
fight occurred, which cleared the benches. Reds
fans joined in the fisticuffs and more than
fifty police officers were called in to stop the
mayhem. |

1961 - At County Stadium, the
Reds defeat the Braves by a score of 3-2.
Cincinnati, down by two in the 8th inning,
scored three when Gus Bell and Frank Robinson
both hit homeruns. Robinson's is a two-run shot. |

the Reds wallop the Giants, 9-3. Pete Rose leads
the game off with a homer. |

1978 - At Shea Stadium, the
Reds fall to the Mets, 12-3. Bench hits his
300th career homerun, while Pete Rose extends
his hitting streak to 39. |

1984 - The Reds send first
baseman Dan Driessen to the Expos for pitcher
Andy McGaffigan and minor leaguer Jim Jefferson.
In Montreal, Driessen would replace none other
than Pete Rose at first base. Montreal would
send Rose to Cincy on August 16th for Tom
Lawless. |
