Cincinnati B.B.C. lose their first and only
match of the 1867 season, dropping to the
Washington Nationals by a score of 53-10. |

1885 - At American Park, the
Reds defeat New York, 13-2. Pitcher Larry McKeon
got the win for Cincinnati. Prior to the game he
was one of 400 who witnessed the hanging of
convicted murderer Joseph Palmer. A murder that
provoked a riot at the courthouse in 1884 that
ended in 56 deaths. |

1887 - At American Park the
Reds defeat Brooklyn by a score of 11-3 to
extend their winning streak to ten games. |

1931 - The Reds defeat the
Braves in Cincinnati by a score of 1-0.
Cincinnati ended the game with a trick of the
ball. In the 9th inning and one out Boston's
Bill Urbanski pops up to third baseman Joe
Stripp. With a runner on second, Stripp didn't
return the ball to pitcher Ogden. When Boston's
Rabbit Maranville didn't take notice he took a
giant lead from the second. Stripp quickly
tossed the ball to Cincinnati's second baseman
Tony Cuccinello who tagged Maranville out. |
