1900 - At League Park, the Reds
defeat Philadelphia by a score of 4-0.

1905 - At South End Grounds the
Reds and Braves split a double header. In game
one Cincinnati hammers the Braves, 15-3. The
Reds racked up seven runs in the 6th inning. The
second game the Braves prevail with a score of
3-2. Prior to the game Reds manager Joe Kelley
tried to persuade Boston manager Fred Tenney to
play a 7 innings in the second game because of
the terrible heat. He refused. |

1906 - The Reds sell hitting
stud Cy Seymour to the Giants for $12,000.
Seymour, who hit .377 the year before which is a
club record for the highest batting average in a
single season, was hitting .257 leading up to
the sale. Team manager Ned Hanlon claimed the
sale would strengthen his club. Hardly. Seymour
hit .320 as a Giant. |

1910 - In Brooklyn, the Reds
edge the Dodgers in extra innings by a score of
1-0. Pinch-hitter Ward Miller drives in the only
run of the game. |

1967 - All Star Game. In
Anaheim, the Reds third baseman, Tony Perez,
hits the game winning homerun for the National
League, ending a 15 inning, three and a half
hour match. The longest All-Star Game ever.
