1878 - At Avenue Grounds, the Reds whip the Grays, 12-4. During the game, the heat was so intense for the Providence players that umpire John Eagan halted the game for fifteen minutes to let the players rest.

1887 - At American Park the Reds defeat the Mets behind hurler Tony Mullane by a score of 2-0. The Apollo of the Box twirls a two-hitter.

1893 - At League Park the Reds defeat Baltimore by a score of 3-2. Cincinnati scores all three runs in the bottom of the 9th to rally.

1897 - In Cincinnati the Reds get hammered by the Phillies, 19-7. Philadelphia collects twenty six hits and score in every inning except the 9th inning.

1910 - At League Park, the Reds defeat the Dodgers in extra innings by a score of 4-3. Catcher Larry McLean's triple and Frank Roth's pinch-hit single in the 14th inning did Brooklyn in.

1938 - At Chicago the Reds smash the Cubs, 11-0. Wally Berger collects four hits while teammate Ernie Lombardi collects four RBI's.

1960 - At the Memorial Coliseum the Reds cream the Dodgers, 14-3. Frank Robinson misses the cycle by a triple, hitting a single, a double and two home runs. Vada Pinson scores five runs.

1973 -  At Jarry Park the Reds defeat the Expos by a score of 11-6. Both clubs' pitching staff issued a combined twenty five base on balls. Pete Rose walked four times while Joe Morgan walked three.

1976 - At Cincinnati, the Reds sweep the Pirates in a double header. The first game went into extra innings with Pittsburgh scoring two runs in the 10th. However the Big Red Machine scores three with Foster driving in the tying and winning runs. Finals scores, 12-11 & 2-1.
