Game one went ten innings and game two went to
sixteen innings. Pitcher Eppa Rixey drives in

Reds shutout the Cubs by a score of 4-0 behind
the pitching of Ewell Blackwell. Blackwell
strikes out thirteen Cubs in the victory. |

U.S. owned enterprises in Cuba brings an end to
Cincinnati's top farm team, the Havana Sugar
Kings. Baseball Commissioner Ford Frick
announces that the club will be pulled and
relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey. |

Reds take both games from the Houston Colt 45's.
Cincinnati wins the first game by a score of
12-8 and takes the second game in thirteen
innings by a score of 12-11. Cincinnati uses
nine pitchers in game two which sets a National
League record. |

National League defeats the American League,
4-2. Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Sr. goes
2-for-3 with a solo homerun and is awarded the

1891 - Reds business manager
Frank Bancroft tells reporters that, between the
National League Reds and the American
Association Reds, there will be only one club in
Cincinnati next season. Bancroft refuses to say
which club will survive but the signs are that
it will be his club. |
