1877 - The recently reorganized
Reds defeat the Louisvilles at Avenue Grounds by
a score of 6-3. It would be the first game
played by the club in three weeks and It was
unclear whether of not the games would count in
the standings. The issue wasn't resolved until
December's National League meeting. |

1880 - At Bank Street Grounds
the Reds lose to the Providence Grays by a score
of 6-4. Reds' Andy Leonard had a pair of errors
that made the difference for Cincinnati.
Leonard, who played with the original Red
Stockings, is released by the club shortly

Cardinals in both games of a double header. Game
1, 13-7 and Game 2's final score was 13-7.
Seventeen Cardinals commit errors during the
games to tie a modern major league record. |

defeat the Cubs at Redland Field by a score of
5-3. The victory would put the Reds three games
ahead of the Brooklyn Robins. |

Crabtree, Hendricks and Lombardi all had triples
in the 7th inning for the win. |

Ernie Lombardi hits a game winning homer. Final
score, 4-3. |

1963 - In Houston, the Colt
45's lose to the Reds by a score of 2-1.
Cincinnati pitcher John Tsitouris hurls a
2-hitter. |

1967 - The Reds lose to the
Cardinals in St. Louis by a score of 7-3. During
the game a bench clearing brawl takes place
after Bob Gibson pitches Cincinnati's Tony Perez
into the dirt. Perez throws a few words at the
Cardinals hurler and benches clear. When it
seemed that the players had calmed down, the
Reds bullpen, led by Bob Lee, comes flying out
with fist flying. It took twelve minutes and the
police to end the mayham. |
