1884 - In Boston, the Unions hold on and defeat the Reds by a score of 4-3. Boston nearly came back in the ninth inning to win when the bases became loaded after a missed third strike to Mike Slattery. With no outs, George Bradley managed to allow just one run to score and behind some good defense secured the victory.
