1876 - At Avenue Grounds, the Reds, leading for most of the game, drop their twenty-second game of the season to the Boston Reds Caps by a score of 8-5.

1882 - In 14 innings, the Reds defeat the Alleghenys by a score of 5-2 at the Bank Street Grounds. The game ended on a triple play when Pittsburgh had a runner on first and second. Reds shortstop, Chuck Fulmer, let a pop fly drop in front of him and threw to third base for the first out. Carpenter threw back to Fulmer at second for the second out and the Pittsburgh batter, Johnny Peters, was throw out at first base because he didn't bother to run.

1883 - The Reds travel up to Dayton to take on the local club in an exhibition match, hammering them by a score of 19-2.

1929 - Cincinnati lose to the Cardinals by a score of 11-8. Reds' centerfielder and Cincinnati native Ethan Allen drills a homer over the center field wall, becoming one of the first to do so.
