1876 - The St. Louis Brown Stockings shut out the Reds‚ 11-0. Reds new catcher, Will Foley, committed twelve errors.

1879 - At Avenue Grounds the Reds lose to Boston, 3-2. Reds' Pete Hotaling led off the game by hitting a drive past Boston's Hawed in centerfield for a home run.

1880 - At Bank Street Grounds, the Reds edge Cleveland by a score of 1-0. Cincinnati's John Clapp hit a triple in the ninth inning to drive in the winning run. Will White pitched a one-hitter, losing his no-no in the seventh inning after Orator Shafer doubled.

1887 - The Reds defeat New York by a score of 12-4. Frank Fennelly scored five of those twelve runs.

2012 - Mother's Day. Following a three hour rain delay at Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati downs the Nationals 9-6. Joey Votto hit three home runs, one being a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth. It's the only time a player in major league history had three homers, capped off with a game winning grand slam.
