1884 - At American Park, the
Reds or "Regulars" take on the Cincinnati
Reserves club, defeating them by a score of
11-3. The game ran close until the eighth
inning, when the Reds tacked on five runs and
three more in the ninth. A little over four
hundred fans came out for the exhibition. |

Cardinals at Riverfront Stadium by a score of
2-1. Winning pitcher Mario Soto hurls a
one-hitter, coming within one strikeout of a
no-no. Redbird George Hendrick hits a two-strike
two-out homer to end the no-hitter. |
