Reds for $4,625,000 from the Crosley Foundation.
After buying the club DeWitt promised to keep
the club in Cincinnati and began pushing for a

1979 - In Birmingham, trying to
hold on to the final playoff spot in the WHA,
the Stingers drop one to the Bulls, 2-1. Mike
Gartner scored the only Cincinnati goal. |

1982 - At Riverfront Coliseum,
the Tigers inch closer to first place with an
8-2 hammering of the Nashville South Stars.
Cincinnati scored six goals in the first period,
three by Frank Nigro. Nigro added a fourth goal
in the second period for good measure. It would
be the club's sixth straight victory. |
