Cincinnati's hockey history dates back to the 1949 opening of the Cincinnati Gardens, when an exhibition hockey game was the first event held there. The Cincinnati Hockey Hall of Fame honors those who have been a significant part of the history and development of hockey in Cincinnati.
 
The Cincinnati Hockey Hall of Fame was established in 2003, and is located in the Legends Museum at the Cincinnati Gardens.
