• Manager Bancroft has
employed every means to induce the Louisville
Club to play its games of next Saturday and
Sunday with Cincinnati in this city, but without
success. Chapman is obstinate, for he seems to
think that his "Colonels" will stand a better
chance of winning on their native beath than at
the Pendleton grounds. |

• Two teams, one made up
of the members of Rev. Dudley Rhodes' Church, of
Mt. Auburn, and the other composed of the
Methodists brethern of the same suburb, will
play a game of ball at the East End Grounds on
next Saturday afternoon. Rev. Dudley Rhodes will
officiate as umpire, and this is a sure
guarantee that no kicking will be allowed. |
