"King" Kel and his big band of Braves had all the sport at Washington yesterday. They rounded the Senators up in good style, and the "Only" was in the game from start to finish. After the Cincinnatis had the game well in hand, Kelly went to second base while Hurley went behind the bat to support the speedy Crane. It is to be hoped that Kelly;s men can win the closing game of the series this afternoon. A victory would give them better heart to go against Billy Barnie's victorious Orioles.

In a late edition of the Commercial Gazette yesterday was published an account of the death of the father of Willie McGill, the ex-Cincinnati pitcher. It will be remembered that Mr. McGill was on his way to Cincinnati when he met with a railroad accident at Indianapolis. He had learned of his son's escapade in Louisville and was on his way here to straighten him out. Mr. McGill died from the effects of the injuries received in the accident.

- Dickie Johnston is beginning to hit the ball. He did some fine batting in the Boston games, and he is credited with three hits in the game at Washington yesterday.

"King" Kelly is a terror to the Association pitchers. When there are runners on the bases the "King" is never allowed to hit the ball.

Scott Small, who is the man in charge of Coney Island, has made elaborate preparations for the opening on the fifth of next month. During the entire season persons going to the island will be allowed a stop-over check if they desire to witness the games at the East End Park.

Kelly's team have only none more games to play away from home. To-morrow night the club will leave for Baltimore, where they open to-morrow. Barnie's team is playing glit-edged ball. Yesterday the Orioles won their second game from St. Louis.

"Kelly's Killer's" like the Athletics, have not yet struck their galt. But they will labor on, and then look out for the dust.
