CINCINNATI REDS II

1878 - The Reds whip Milwaukee, 13-2 at Avenue Grounds. The Cream Citys captain tries out 27-year-old Newport, Kentucky amateur Alamazoo Jennings behind the dish. Jennings allowed ten passed balls and committed four errors. It would be his only major league game.

CINCINNATI REDS III
-
1891 - In Cleveland the Reds lose to the Spiders by a score of 6-3. During the game a fight broke out between Reds' Arlie Latham and Cleveland's Jimmy McAleer after Latham blocked McAleer's attempt to score at the plate. McAleer began kicking Latham and the Red retaliated by delivering a blow to his jaw. McAleer grabbed a bat and chased Latham out to centerfield where he whipped the lumber at him, missing.
