1891 - In Cleveland the Reds
lose to the Spiders by a score of 6-3. During
the game a fight broke out between Reds' Arlie
Latham and Cleveland's Jimmy McAleer after
Latham blocked McAleer's attempt to score at the
plate. McAleer began kicking Latham and the Red
retaliated by delivering a blow to his jaw.
McAleer grabbed a bat and chased Latham out to
centerfield where he whipped the lumber at him,
missing. |
