CINCINNATI RED STOCKINGS
 
1870 - At Union Grounds, the Red Stockings lose to the Athletics of Philadelphia by a score of 11-7. It would be Cincinnati's first home loss since August 24th 1868 when the club was still amateur.
 
CINCINNATI REDS II
 
1876 - For the third time in three games a Chicago player tallies six hits in a game. In this game Ross Barnes does the deed, going 6-for-6 as his teammates add another 17 hits to crush the Reds, 17–3.
 
1880 - After caring for his ill wife, Deacon White finally joined the Reds club. White had signed in May but family came first.
 
CINCINNATI REDS III
 
1894 - At League Park, the Reds defeat Chicago, 14-12. The Colts pitcher, Scott Stratton hit two runs in the match but it was all-for-not.
