1870 - The Red Stockings narrowly defeat Harvard University with a score of 20-17. Cincinnati, behind 17-12, by scoring eight runs, rallies in the 9th inning by scoring eight runs. Harry Wright hits a bases loaded double while Doug Allison drives in the winning run.

CINCINNATI REDS II

1878 - At Avenue Grounds, the Reds defeat the first place Bostons by a score of 4-1. Rookie Mike Kelly scored the tying run on a muffed play by left fielder Leonard in the 4th inning. Kelly would score the go-ahead run in the 6th inning as well. The victory would pull the Reds within a game and half of first place.
