CINCINNATI REDS II
 
1875 - It was announced that a new professional Red Stockings club was to be formed and work on a new ballpark would begin. The ballpark would come to be known as Avenue Grounds and would house a major league baseball club from 1876 to 1879.
 
CINCINNATI REDS III
 
1882 - At Newington Park the first place Reds edge the Orioles by a score of 1-0. Henry Luff scores the only run for Cincinnati in the 5th Inning. During the 4th inning umpire Mike Walsh is surrounded by angry fans on the field after he declared a hit by Charlie Waitt a foul ball. Walsh retreated into Baltimore's clubhouse for awhile until order was restored.
