CINCINNATI REDS IV |
|
|
|
1891
- With the Cincinnati blue-law firmly in place,
the Reds management and city
officials worked out a compromise to allow
baseball to be played on Sunday. The compromise
was that they could play for one weekend and at
the conclusion of the game all Reds players and
players of the opposing team would promptly be
arrested. Reds ownership agreed and Sunday
baseball was played in Cincinnati for the first
time in two years. The end result was a Reds
loss to the Colonels by a score of 6-12. As
expected, all players were arrested following
the final out. |
