CINCINNATI REDS III
 
1885 - At American Park the Reds and Alleghenies grind out a 16 inning match before a crowd of 2,000. The Reds scored a run in the final inning but gave up two to Pittsburgh in the 7-6 loss.
-
1894 - The Reds lose to the Spiders, 1-0. Cy Young hurled a two-hitter against Cincinnati to help guide his Cleveland club to victory.

1895 - Reds' slugger Bug Holliday comes down ill with what will be diagnosed as acute appendicitis. Holliday would recover but never play full-time again. Bug retired at the age of 31.
